I was searching for worship music to be a part of my wedding ceremony the first time that I heard John Waller’s song, The Blessing. It was playing on my favorite Christian radio station, I had never heard it before, and I didn’t know who the artist was. I memorized some words from it and went home and looked it up on the internet.
As soon as I heard the song, I knew that it would perfect to play during the part of the wedding ceremony when we lit the unity candle. That part of the ceremony was important to me and my husband because we decided the symbolism of unity needed to include not only the bride and the groom, but each of our children and Christ.
The lyrics of The Blessing
perfectly conveyed our intention for our marriage and for our united family. We really desire to be a blessing for life.
The Artist…
John Waller is a talented songwriter, an awesome singer and a worship leader. He previously was part of a Christian band called According to John, but he made his debut with the album, The Blessing.
The Billboard named Waller as an artist to watch in 2007, and later he was credited as being one of the best new artists in 2007 by Christianity Today.
